MGM MIRAGE RECEIVES NEW VISTA COMMUNITY'S BLUEBIRD AWARD
Award honors community partners for their support of intellectually challenged

Las Vegas, NV (Mar. 02, 2009) – MGM MIRAGE was presented with New Vista Community's "Community Partner" Bluebird Award during the organization's "Wine Walk, The Big One" held Feb. 28 at Town Square.

The non-profit organization, which assists intellectually challenged people in southern Nevada, gives Bluebird Awards annually to individuals or companies that demonstrate support for the betterment of others.

MGM MIRAGE employees have donated about $65,200 to New Vista through the MGM MIRAGE Voice Foundation and have participated in the organization's volunteer activities. The Voice Foundation is the company's nonprofit, philanthropic entity that collects and disburses employee donations to deserving charities and causes selected by its employees.

"This award speaks to the tremendous generosity of our employees, who support New Vista with their hard-earned dollars because they understand the significance of New Vista's mission in this community," said Merlinda Gallegos, Vice President of Philanthropy for MGM MIRAGE.

"The Voice Foundation is more than just another foundation in our community," said Michelle Jackson, Director of Development for New Vista Community. "The foundation is the voice for the employees' community goals. The employees understand the core needs of Las Vegas, because they take heed of what the people living here and working here say."

Since its inception in 2002, the MGM MIRAGE Voice Foundation has disbursed more than $30 million in employee donations to charities and places where MGM MIRAGE employees live and work.

The other two recipients of this year's Bluebird Awards are Larry Seedig of USAA Savings Bank, who was presented with the Bluebird "Community Commitment Partner" Bluebird Award; and Lisa Tomlin, who received the "Volunteer of the Year" Bluebird Award.

New Vista Community has been in Las Vegas for more than 20 years and provides homes, respite care, in-home services to families with intellectually challenged members, recreational activities and life skills training.
