CHUCK BOWLING NAMED TO TRADESHOW WEEK’S “POWER PACK”
Mandalay Bay Executive Vice President named one of the 100 most influential people in the exhibition business
LAS VEGAS – July 8, 2008 - MGM MIRAGE executive Chuck Bowling has been recognized as one of the most influential people in the tradeshow industry. Bowling, who serves as Executive Vice President of Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, was selected for Tradeshow Week’s “Power Pack,” a group of individuals who have helped change the tradeshow business.
“The purpose of the ‘Power Pack’ is predominantly to inspire,” said Tradeshow Week Editor-in-Chief Michael Hart. “We see it as a starting point for an industry-wide discussion on the subject of leadership in the exhibition world.”
Bowling, along with the rest of this year’s “Power Pack” inductees, was selected for his insight, innovation and influence in the industry. In his current position, Bowling oversees day-to-day operations at Mandalay Bay, including the 1.7 million-square-foot convention center. Under his leadership, the convention center was recognized for several awards last year, including Meetings and Conventions’ “Gold Platter Award” and Successful Meetings’ “Pinnacle Award.”
Bowling previously served as Executive Vice President of Sales, Channel Marketing and Distribution for MGM MIRAGE Operations, Inc. He began his tenure with the company in 1998 as Vice President of Sales for MGM Grand Las Vegas and has held related positions of increasing responsibility within the company. Bowling has over 27 years of hospitality industry experience having worked for companies such as Westin Hotels and Resorts, Omni Hotels and Stouffer Hotels.
A graduate of Georgia State University, Bowling earned his bachelor’s degree in business management. He also serves on the boards of the Las Vegas Convention & Visitor’s Authority, Nevada Commission on Tourism and the Travel Industry Association of America.
