Southern Nevada Water Authority Presents Water Hero Award to MGM MIRAGE
LAS VEGAS - October 13, 2006 - In recognition of the company's water conservation efforts, the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) presented MGM MIRAGE with its Water Hero Award.
Annually, the SNWA honors companies and individuals that are making a positive impact on water conservation. MGM MIRAGE was one of five recipients whose combined efforts have helped conserve more than 200 million gallons of water this year.
MGM MIRAGE's company-wide conservation efforts include installing low-flow showerheads and toilets, using drip irrigation features for landscaping and providing employee training to support water conservation. Additionally, MGM MIRAGE has built the only reverse osmosis plant on the Las Vegas Strip. The facility purifies aquifer water to a level which allows it to be safely used.
